Driving safety is a huge issue in the workplace. Not only can it be a major distraction, but it can also cause accidents that hurt people and ruin equipment. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that nearly 100 people are killed every day when distracted drivers crash into them.

So if you're driving to work (or anywhere else), here are some tips for keeping yourself and others safe:

Don't use your phone while driving—even if you're using hands-free technology or an app with voice control. It takes about 5 seconds for your brain to refocus after taking your eyes off the road to look at or type something on your phone—that's all it takes for an accident to happen!

If you need to make or answer a call, pull over first so that you don't put yourself or other drivers in danger. If it's not possible to do so safely, pull over as soon as possible after answering the call so that you can focus on the road again before continuing on your way.

Don't text while driving—it's just as dangerous as talking on the phone! It takes even more time than talking because of all of the extra steps involved.
