We know the hazards and dangers of working close to live oil and gas facilities. But how much awareness does the typical public know about it? In the oil and Gas industry, O&G facilities are divided into two field categories; greenfield and brownfield. Greenfield areas are located in entirely new regions, which are usually still under construction and free of any petroleum products. Brownfields are areas with the presence or potential presence of petroleum products and other hazardous substances. This article will mainly discuss the impact of working and moving within brownfield regions in place of two incidents happening consecutively within less than 30 days.

Formal investigation reports from Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia shall be referred for detailed cause analysis.
