What is a Professional Engineer for Temporary Work (PETW)? According for Guidelines No.1 released by Board of Engineers, Malaysia on 21st August 2015, PETW is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board and with Practising Certificate in force. They are hired to engage in design, endorsement, and supervision of Temporary Work during construction phase. Its an undeniable fact that all structures required some sort of design whether its nature is permanent or temporary to ensure its structural soundness to serve its intended purposes. This also form as an basis for safety for the workers and public around the vicinity of the construction site. As such it has been included by Law in Factories and Machinery (Building Operations & Works of Engineering Construction) (Safety) Regulations (BOWEC).
